Apostle Adam Gaines was born in 1964 in Boston, Massachusetts. He accepted Christ as His Lord and Savior in July of 1985. He began preaching the gospel, February of 1987 and attended the School of Ministry of the Church of God in Christ. Apostle Gaines was ordained in ministry in July of 1991, and relocated to South Carolina on a divine assignment from God which was to build a church rooted in the Word of God.​

He is pastor and founder of Anointed Light Church, Summerville, South Carolina, where the mission is to be a light that illuminates and brings glory to God through the salvation of lost souls, the nourishment of saved souls and healing & deliverance. Through Apostle Gaines’ leadership, the Church has become a Spirit-filled Church, rooted in the Word of God.

He is happily married to Lady Valerie Gaines. They have 4 beautiful children; Adam, Valeshia, Elijah and A’keem. They currently reside in Summerville, South Carolina.
